Hi I'm Ben Salter, I have lived in Penarth for many years after the family moved here from London in 1968.I have been interested in photography since I was given my first camera a Kodak instamatic 33 which took 35mm film in a pre loaded cartridge. I later moved on to processing my own black & white prints with my fathers help, and the families patience in my taking over the bathroom for the evening! Since then I have rarely gone out without the camera, and over the years have amassed a very large collection of photographs, covering many different subjects.
I have also been taking portraits for many years, and at the time of writing this have photographed in excess of 300 people! I also occasionally take wedding photographs all though this is not my favourite job.
       A few years ago I started making the now highly popular 'Images of Penarth' cards, which I sell in a few shops locally. But now with this web site I hope to be able to bring these photographs and others to wider audience. Technical difficulties in trying to store a large number of photographs in a limited size web site though, have meant that the quality of the images here are far inferior to the original print, and are meant only to give the guest to the site a flavour of the original  photograph.
Other developments include a job on the Cardiff  Waterbus which is now operating in Cardiff Bay.
